AppId is over the quota
It is playoff time for most fantasy football leagues.
I am happy to say my team, The Foulboys, made a return to the playoffs this season.
Even on a yellow brick road that led to the playoffs and post season monetary payoffs, there are still speed bumps of regret on wasted picks that littered starting line ups with not even garbage time points, but only single digit scoring misery.
With the 27th pick in the 3rd round of our fantasy draft, I broke a fantasy rule I had always adhered to.
Never, never, draft a Giant, Redskin, or an Eagle. But this year I had a can't miss, Desean Jackson.
I thought all the times I had seen him sizzle my Cowboys defense, that at least when it happened this season, I would reap the benefits with a fantasy explosion.
After a 16.2 on Week 1, I thought the payoff would be worth having to root for an Eagle.
Unfortunately there would be only 2 more weeks of double-digit scoring, and beyond those 3 weeks, Desean's highest scoring output has been no more than a meager 8.8.
Hell, even in the game when the Eagles destroyed the Cowboys, Jackson netted me a disgusting 3.1.
Now in Week 14 taking a look back at who could have been, the list is long. Wes Welker, Mike Wallace, Steve Smith, the list goes on and on.
If the Foulboys go on to win a Fantasy Super Bowl, all will be forgiven, but if I fall short, I will have no one to blame but myself, and Desean, and the Eagles, and Mike Vick, and Andy Reid, and so on and so on...
If you are still scouring the waiver wire for help on your fantasy team, you are probably not headed towards the playoffs, but maybe just maybe you are going to make the playoffs and you just need a little depth or just feel like getting saucy, then there might be some help out there, but don't count on it.
If you don't like the QB you have on your roster then Matt Leinart is definitely worth taking a look at. Maybe not the best match up this week, but if he comes out and lights it up, he could be a sweet option in the next couple of weeks.
All you bottom feeders that picked up Kevin Smith, it looks like he will be good to go next week and they will need a lot of production going up against the Saints, so he is worth holding onto, or if you really like to gamble you can pick up Keiland Williams.
I myself took a chance on Joseph Addai. I already played Ray Rice and still have Michael Bush, but I figured why not.
I am not going to waste your time telling you to pick up Spiller or Gerhart because you wouldn't be reading this if you didn't already know about them.
A WR I think is worth a shot if you have the roster spot is Santana Moss, he should be back this week, and if he plays he is the Redskins only legit deep threat, but buyer be warned he hasn't played in several weeks. Fasano and Dickson still top the TE list.
Scheffler has 5 tds, but does lose a lot of receptions to Pettigrew.
So, there's our outlook on the situation. If you want to know more, definitely come visit The Football Radio Show.
